BIRTH

OF A CITY

THE STORY OF TORONTO

A documentary film (25 minutes) presented with live music and narration, suitable for all ages. This imaginative presentation explores Toronto’s history, starting from its native indigenous roots and explores how it was founded and where its name originated. The production highlights Toronto’s major achievements, through each decade from the 1920s right through till modern times. Recognizing the past contributions of immigrants and Toronto’s embracing of diversity, the show culminates in a challenge to students to add their creativity and their unique contributions to continue building the future Toronto. Performances are followed by a 10 minute Q&A.
